A letter from Mom

In Loving Memory of Braedon Jacob Beebe Lyon

On May 16, 2018, I lost the bravest boy I’ve ever known and heaven got another angel.

Braedon touched so many lives during his short time here on earth and is loved deeply by everyone who had the privilege of truly knowing him . It was impossible not to fall for his charm, his big heart and his infectious smile. He’s left an imprint on our hearts that will last a lifetime. I have come to believe he was here to be our guiding light, our messenger and our teacher and we are all better for having known him. He taught us so much and even in his passing he continues to teach us from heaven.

Although our hearts will never be the same, I have started this foundation with the help of family and friends so that we can remember and honour him by bringing a little happiness to others in his name.  This is something that I have to do. As Braedon’s mother, I have an overwhelming need for him to be remembered and for that beautiful bright light of his to continue to shine on in this world. Although Braedon made a lasting impact on everyone he knew, I am called to create this legacy in his memory so that even those who didn’t get a chance to know him will be impacted by his light. Together we will all be vessels for Braedon’s light to shine through.

Setting out on this mission to help others, to bring a touch of happiness to other kids braving their own health battles, bringing awareness to the importance of and encouraging blood and organ donation gives me, our friends and family and even the community something positive to focus on.

It gives me purpose, it keeps Braedon’s spirit alive and it allows for something beautiful to come out of something so unimaginable.

By supporting this foundation, you are helping hearts heal. You are helping a family facing incredible agonizing loss. You are helping me; a grieving mother, remember and honour and care for my son the only way I can now. You are helping to bring a touch of happiness to children facing unimaginable hardships well beyond their years. You are bringing parents a moment of reprieve as they watch their kids forget about their worries and take a few moments for just being kids.

With Love and Gratitude,
